When Is SuziQ’s open?
SuizQ’s Garden is open from labour weekend till the 24th December, or by appointment. Opening hours are 8am till 6pm or by appointment outside of these hours.
Do I need to book to visit your farm?
You do not need to book. You are welcome to visit during our opening hours.
How do I get to SuziQ’s?
Our address is 42D Gladsmuir road, Queensberry, 9383.
We are located on State Highway 6 between Wanaka and Cromwell. Turn off the main road at the Lazy Dog. once on Gladsmuir Rd, turn right at the t-section and follow the road until you see the Suzi Q sign. During our open season, you will see the signage on the highway to help direct you to our farm.
When is the best time of the year to visit the farm?
Spring is the best time to visit SuziQ’s Garden. We are open from late October – December. Our peonies bloom in the spring and some varieties will flower sooner than others. Our Coral Sunset and Red Charm peonies are the earliest to bloom. Click here to see when each variety is likely to bloom.
Do you accept credit card as payment?
No, we do not accept credit card payment. We accept cash, EFTPOS and online bank transfers.

Peonies
When are the flowers in bloom?
Peonies bloom from early November – late December. The exact month for peak bloom will depend on the variety of peonies you’d like to see. Please click here to read more about the varieties we grow to help you better plan your visit. Coral Sunset and Red Charm peonies (pictured above) are the earliest varieties to bloom.
Do you ship peonies throughout New Zealand?
Yes, we frequently package up bouquets and can ship peonies anywhere throughout New Zealand. Contact us or visit the farm for custom orders.
Do you sell peonies by the stem?
Peonies are sold by the stem and by the bunch. The price depends on the variety of peonies. Peony bunches will be available during the season.
Can I purchase peonies for my wedding or special occasion?
Yes. I have a wide selection of Peony varieties and colours for all your special celebrations.
Are peonies a good choice for wedding flowers?
Peonies are an excellent choice for wedding flowers. Their big, romantic ruffles and their variety of colours make peonies a great option for wedding flowers. We offer a selection of whites, blushes, reds, pinks, cerise and corals that will fit in seamlessly with any wedding bouquet.
Christmas trees
When can I choose my Christmas tree?
We are open Labour Weekend annually and invite you to select your Christmas tree from October through December. If you would like to select your tree in October, we will reserve it for you until you are ready to transport it to your home for Christmas. Christmas trees are held on payment.
Do I cut my chosen tree down myself?
Yes, part of the beauty of our Christmas tree farm is the experience of wandering the rows of trees and selecting the perfect one for your family’s Christmas celebration. When you have selected your tree, double-check it does not have a “reserved” tag. If it doesn’t, cut down the tree and bring it back to the workshop for payment. Assistance and saws are provided if required.
What is the price of a Christmas tree?
Christmas tree prices vary depending on the size and shape, however, you can expect to pay $20-$100 GST inclusive.
When is the latest I can collect my tree?
The latest you can collect your tree is Christmas Eve at 4 pm.
Do you deliver Christmas Trees?
No, we do not offer a delivery service.
Lavender
What varieties of lavender do you grow?
We grow Grosso, Pure Super and Pacific Blue for essential oil production. We also grow Dutch White, Lollipop, Arabian Night and a variety of English Lavender.
When will the lavender be in full bloom?
Lavender starts showing colour around late-November and reaches peak bloom in January and February. Harvesting for the oil happens in late January and early February.
Do you sell lavender products?
Yes. We offer the following lavender products:
- Essential pure Oils, in 10ml bottles. $15-$18
- Hydrosol 100ml spray $6
- Hydrosol 500il refill $15
Lavender products are available from May 2020. These products are usually available to purchase in my Opening Season but I am happy to ship them anywhere in New Zealand. You may also buy direct from the farm, please phone for an appointment/arrangement.
What are the benefits of lavender oil?
Lavender oil is one of the most useful and versatile of all the essential oils and its benefits are far-reaching. Lavender oil is great for cuts, insect bites, massage oils, seeping aids as well as many other benefits. For more information, check out this blog post.
